Remember this post?  It seems like a million years ago.
The Book is now available, and it's pretty neat seeing my illustrations in print.  It's a beautiful book filled with fabulous gardening tips and lovely photos, not to mention cute little drawings;)
Great job Joy and Karen!

It's available for purchase here and here.
Now I have no excuse but to have a fabulously joyful garden!
If only this handy little book had expert weeding skills.

Snow White and Rose Red Puppets

The latest fabric design challenge at spoonflower is to create a puppet design on a fat quarter. Since I love fairy tales, and I like to maximize my space in my designs, I did all the main characters in the tale "Snow White and Rose Red". It's a lovely tale of enchantment which can be read here. They are designed for small hands, and the bear and the prince are meant to be sewn together for a quick transformation. The other puppets need a coordinating backing. They are hand-painted in gouache, and were so fun to design.
Voting doesn't start till Thursday, but I noticed there are lots of fun puppet designs already visible at spoonflower.

Foxy Loxy

I'm not sure what drives me to do the things I do.
An insanely scattered brain... an enormous amount of semi-sweet chocolate chip munching at midnight... perhaps I have a tiny alien inhabiting my inner ear.
Of course while having a million other things to do including much needed housework, I found it necessary to do these illustrations.
They weren't created for any particular reason, I just sketched them one day and thought they would be fun to digitally color.

I was happy with how they turned out, and Isaac loves them.
I am excited to have something that appeals to little boys in my shop
which is a bit overrun with girly things. They are going to be available in the
shop this week in a 5"x7" size.
Let me know what you think of Foxy Loxy, Cocky Locky and Goosey Loosey.

I have been glued to my computer for so long working on various designs/projects, that I feel like I haven't made much time for actual sewing. I've had some clothing designs swimming around in my head, so I decided to pull them out of their
soggy puddle (my brain), and make them. Here is the 1st prototype of my apron top using my original "Sweet Birds" fabric.
My model is very pleased that she has the perk of getting to keep this one!

So bright and cheery, it makes me happy.

Are you ready for spring?
I sure am, that's why I like Heather Bailey's new fabric line "Nicey Jane".
It is so lovely and springy, I just had to make an owl with it.
I have a new PDF sewing pattern available in my etsy shop!
Post a comment on the post and you could win a free copy of my pattern.
For another chance to win, become a facebook fan and comment on my
facebook post about Isabelle.
The winners will be chosen Monday, March 1st.

Because I love you

I have been hibernating in my creative cave for the past couple months,
and I think it is time to emerge.

I have been going a bit nuts, and have created over 100 fabric designs just in the last month, and I am just getting started. Most of them are not yet public on my spoonflower page, but will be soon.

I have also been designing party decor and stationary which will soon be available in my shop as pdf printables.
I thought it would be fun to have a free valentine card and envelope set for my faithful blog readers (all 14 of you), because I love you so!

I hope you all have a sweet and hug filled Valentine's Day!

Forest Friends Dress

Here in my new entry in the spoonflower fabric design contest.
Vote HERE. (psst. I'm Star Primm)
The theme is "Children's Clothing", and the assignment was to design a piece of children's apparel with pattern pieces and instructions all on one yard of fabric. I made a little dress that will fit 18 months - 3T, and it features my watercolor illustrations of some tiny forest friends. I made a prototype out of white muslin, and it fits my little Isabelle just perfectly. I am still waiting to receive my printed fabric, so once it arrives I will post photos of the finished dress.

Or should I say dolls;)
Here is the finished Audrey doll, and she was a big hit with my little Isabelle.
My design didn't make into the spoonflower finals, but I had
fun making it, and love the motivation the contests give me.
Vote for one of the fabulous doll panel finalists HERE.

My design made it into the final stage of voting... please come vote for me!
The design is titled tree2, the place for voting is HERE.
Have I ever mentioned how much I love spoonflower? Well I do, where else can you design and print your own fabric in whatever quantity you want and have it in hand in about a week? And now we can buy fabric from other spoonflower members! If you don't have an account, it is quick and painless to set one up. So what are you waiting for?
Here are my designs I received yesterday, I am so happy with them!

Now I better get busy sewing them into something! Maybe after costume season is over.

Harvest time & Vote for my fabric design...please

It seems the cold weather sneaks up on me every autumn. It snuck up on my pumpkins too, most of them didn't have a chance to turn orange. My 9 year old says they will make great
jack-o-witches!

This is the first time I have entered a fabric design in one of spoonflower's contests.
The theme is "numbers", this little owlie tree is what I came up with.
If you like it, please vote for my design here. My design is number 33.
I hope you are all enjoying the change of the seasons, I am so excited for Halloween, candy and COSTUMES!!!

Thank you everyone for your entries in the owl giveaway! The winner of Ollie in the etsy forums was Jessica of Beadbug Jewelry.
There will be another giveaway starting on Friday the 22nd, so check back.

I finished one of my custom projects I have been working on and thought I'd share them with you. You can probably guess who they are, but if you can't, they are Luke and Leia from Star Wars. They were fun to make, but my favorite part has got to be those fabu buns!

I finally made some friends for Oliver! He was sold yesterday, and will soon be flying to his new home, so of course his owl pals want new homes too. There are two ways to win this weeks giveaway. One way is to comment on this blog, and the other is to be the 800th post on my thread in the etsy forums under promotions here. This is Otto, he has great fashion sense, and loves playing checkers. Otto
is the owl to be given to the blog winner
This is Oliander, but we call him Ollie for short. He likes skydiving and spicy food.
Ollie is the owl to be given to the etsy forums winner.
The Blog giveaway deadline is Tuesday, August 12, at 10pm MST and the winner will be chosen at random and announced Wednesday. The Etsy Forums winner will be whoever makes the 800th post on my thread in promotions. Good luck to you all, and if you aren't the lucky ones this week, check back for future giveaways. I hope I didn't leave out any details.
